Yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend Films de Verano, a special presentation by fashion photographer Ricardo Chávez at CLOSER HOUSE.
The exhibition featured a selection of fashion films created by Ricardo throughout his work in the fashion industry. The venue provided the perfect setting for the screening, with two different rooms transformed into intimate spaces where guests could discover and enjoy the films.
Films de Verano brings together a series of summer stories originally created for the fashion section of Reforma under the direction of editor Fernando Toledo.
. For these projects, Ricardo takes part in the creative process by selecting the looks and models, bringing his own vision of fashion to each story.
Today, Ricardo’s work has been published in several major fashion and lifestyle publications, including ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour, and Reforma. Throughout his career, he has also worked on projects involving names such as Dolce & Gabbana, Cartier, Pamela Roland, and Palacio de Bellas Artes.
As part of his work for Reforma, Ricardo has covered some of the most important fashion weeks around the world, including Milan Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, and New York Fashion Week. In fact, right after Films de Verano, he was heading to New York for another season of fashion.
It was wonderful to experience fashion through moving images and to discover more about the person behind the camera. Films de Verano offered a glimpse into Ricardo Chávez’s perspective on fashion, storytelling, and the visual world he has built throughout his career.
